Fowler After School Activities

Get Involved Try Something New Have Fun!

 Statistics prove that adolescents are more likely like to feel connected to their school and perform better academically when participating in extracurricular activities.

The cost is $25 per activity. Homework Help is free.

Activities are held on Monday / Wednesday or Tuesday / Thursday and run from 3:15-4:15. Students go to the main office to sign up and pay their fees.

Scholarships are available to any student who needs it.

An activity bus will be provided to take students home. The buses leave at 4:25pm.

Homework Help is Monday - Thursday

Homework is a space for students to complete their homework and get help if they need it. Offered Monday-Thursday on a drop-in basis in the library. Students may attend as many days as they need. Snacks are provided.

Monday/Wednesday Activities

ART CLUB: An environment for both structured and unstructured creative expression, allowing members to work on personal projects or explore new ideas outside of a formal class setting. Let's create together! Led by Ms. Ramsey.

BASKETBALLLearn fundamentals and play with friends - shoot, pass, defend. Scrimmages and games vs. other middle schools. Led by Coach Seitz. 25 person cap

BEGINNING BAND: Beginning band is an introductory music class for students with little to no experience, focusing on learning to play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument, covering fundamentals like music reading. Led by Mr. Coons 25 person cap

DESIGN ADVISORY CLUB: Students will help in the design of the new Fowler with the contractor and design a building overall called SchoosNext. SchoolsNext is a nation, team-based design competition where students design sustainable, future ready learning spaces.  Led by Ms. Ash. 

KICKBALL: A fun and popular game that mixes baseball and soccer! Players kick a big rubber ball and run around four bases to score runs - no bats needed. Come learn and play with a real baseball coach, Mr. Bruckshaw!  25 person cap

MAGIC THE GATHERING AND BOARDGAMES: Come join the magical world of Magic; build your deck and use your skills to take out your opponents. OR come play a board game you have been dying to play! Led by Ms. Rademacher

OBOB: OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books) is a statewide reading competition for Oregon students in grades 3-12. Teams read a list of diverse books and them compete in a quiz-show style tournament, answering trivia questions about the books' content to promote reading, comprehension and teamwork. Led by Ms. Folsom

Tuesday/Thursday Activities

CERAMICS: Create functional items (mugs, bowls) or sculptural pieces, allowing for unique artistic expression. Led by Ms. Rademacher 25 person cap

CHESS: Chess is one of the oldest and most popular board games. Come and learn to compete in chess competitions. Led by Mr. Lyons. 25 person cap

COZY CHILL TIME: Bring a book to read or a project to work on. Sip on some Hot Cocoa and nibble on a snack while we sit back and chill together. Led by Ms. Vandehey 25 person cap

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS CLUB: Build characters, go on adventures, and collaborate through story-based gameplay. Led by Mr. Seitz. 25 person cap

INDOOR SOCCER: This fast-paced version of soccer is played on a smaller field with smaller goals and emphasizes quick footwork, constant action and fewer stoppages like throw-ins. There are 5-7 players per side and they can use the walls to keep the ball in play making it a high-energy, skill-focused sport ideal for winter play. Led by Mr. Penny

JAZZ BAND: Explore jazz and swing standards - beginners to advanced welcome. No band enrollment required; open rehearsals. No experience? No problem! Just bring your enthusiasm! Led by Mr. Coons.

VOLLEYBALL: Bump, set, spike! skill-building. scrimmages and games vs. other middle schools. Led by Mr. Bruckshaw.  25 person cap

STICKER DESIGN: Creating eye-catching stickers with a clear purpose by using bold pictures, limited fonts, and strategic color choices. Good sticker design uses space wisely and includes themes, contrast, and neat alignment. The right materials, like vinyl or paper, help make stickers look great and last longer. **7th and 8th ONLY** Led by Mr. Windle

Behavior and Bus Guidelines

  1. Every student is to report to the meeting place by 3:15pm.
  2. Cooperative behavior is extremely important in all activities. Any student who misbehaves will be given 3 warnings. After the third warning, the student may be suspended from the activity.
  3. While riding home on the BUS, each student must agree to behave appropriately. Each student needs to ride the bus that they assigned to and adhere to the rules of the bus driver.
  4. No refunds will be made if a student is dismissed from an activity due to poor behavior.
